Creativity Starts in the Garden

There’s nothing quite like looking to my own garden for inspiration.

While many people know me through my watercolor paintings and handmade paints, there is so much more happening behind the scenes than what appears on the paper. Creativity, for me, begins long before the first brushstroke.

It starts in the garden.

From growing roses and nurturing flowering containers to observing the changing seasons, nature is constantly filling my sketchbooks with ideas. Photography has always been a love of mine, and I rarely venture into the garden without my camera. Many of the paintings I create begin as photographs captured during a quiet morning walk among the blooms.
